Parade at the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval is a temporary exhibition that brings together the vibrant tapestries of Dom Robert and the enigmatic feather sculptures of Kate MccGwire in a poetic dialogue about flight and the figure of the bird. Through richly coloured, nature-filled textiles and delicately crafted feathered forms, the show invites visitors to follow a metaphorical “flight” between luxuriance and mystery, enhanced by a bespoke soundscape that evokes bird song and the festive echo of a village parade, all set within the dreamlike, fantastical architecture of the unique architectural folly built soley by the Facteur Cheval, begun in 1879 completed in 1912.
