HOME FROM HOME II, 2005

Fabric and wax
35 x 45 x 15 cm

‘Home from Home II' turns on its head the idea of home as a place of sanctuary. It was inspired by the exhibition's setting, in an abattoir near to Smithfield Market. The child's babygro has been slashed and harmed but, at the same time, beautified, using the 'pinking and shearing' technique common to 16th-century costume design.
