An apparently abstract pattern recalls a 21st-century version of a Rorschach inkblot test; in fact, it is based on a series of photographs of policemen wearing luminous emergency jackets. Kate removed all references to their bodies, leaving only fluorescent flashes of tape to reveal a narrative that forces the viewer onto uncertain ground, without the visual clues they would normally use to interpret what
they see.
